How to Make a Keepsake Box

I took a box that I wasn't using and decided to make it a keepsake box for our baby. I like to scrapbook, but I don't always stay on top of doing it. So I wanted a box that I can put things in for the time being like doctors appointment cards, the at home pregnancy tests I took etc.

The taping off I did for the chevron print was the most time consuming part of the whole project. But even that part didn't take a whole lot of time. I taped it off, painted and clear coated all in one evening. The blue and white paint needed two coats but the grey only needed one and it dried rather quickly. I waited for the clear coat to dry completely before I put the lid on and added the stickers.

I love this box and can't wait to fill it up with all of Evan's keepsakes. :)

Baby Evan's Nursery

Still a work in progress, but I know we'll have time to finish. I started getting things ready pretty early. I just want everything to be perfect for little mister, even though I know he won't notice or care if I have the prefect hangings on the walls or the cutest little decorations for the shelves. I'm just so excited for his arrival. I could spend all of my time in his room, just rocking in my chair, imagining holding him and changing him. My husband has been so awesome getting everything put together and even moving it around 3 and 4 times until I am happy with it. Ohhh, the anticipation. :)

An Unexpected Deal

I like to consider myself quite the Maxxinista and boy did I find myself quite the deal when I was browsing our TJ Maxx the other day. I am a purse addict and I especially love Dooney & Bourke and Coach. Walking down the purse aisle, I didnt expect to find much seeing as how I had just been there a few days ago. When my eyes saw those little DB's I couldn't believe myself. $99 is a great price for that bag which was originally $175 - but no! It was clearanced to $69 with not a thing wrong with it.

I couldn't believe someone hadn't snatched it already. I grabbed that thing as fast as I could and looked around me as if to make sure someone wasn't playing a prank on me. I had just been looking at those bags online, not in this light purple color but I sure do love it!

Grow Baby, Grow!

It's funny how I don't feel like I've gotten very big, but when I put pictures side by side you can definitely tell how well little mister is growing! I am loving being pregnant, I feel so connected to our baby and so unbelievably at peace, calm and happy. It is amazing.

I never had any morning sickness, but I made up for it with 'pregnancy brain' and being insanely emotional. Just very in tune to my feelings and other's feelings - anything could make me cry. I'm just now starting to have swollen feet and ankles, which is funny to me because my feet and toes are so small, they make me laugh to see them looking like little sausages.

Little mister is moving around so much and I love just laying down and feeling him do his thing in there. He loves when his daddy puts his hands on my belly and talks to him, he really gets to moving then. So far, I have only gained 9 pounds (should be anywhere from a 15 to 20 pound weight gain) which my doctor said is perfectly healthy as long as I eat when I'm hungry/eat healthy and take my vitamins, which I do very well at both...the eating especially :)

A lot of people have been asking me how I've avoided gaining a bunch of weight. I don't really have a secret to it, I just stop eating when I feel full. And I haven't used being pregnant as an excuse to eat everything in sight nor have I been eating unhealthy. The husband and I take evening walks and I'm usually always busy doing something so that keeps my body active.

I would love to see your baby bump pictures, just leave the link to your page in a comment! :)
