Gettin' My Education On

My Sister & I before my HS graduation 2006

Have you been wondering why I haven't posted anything this week? Well you are about to find out. Call me crazy after being out of school for six years now, but I have been going through the process of enrolling into college! I couldn't be more excited! This is something I have been wanting to do for years and after a few turn downs because I didn't have a degree, I got the kick in the butt I needed. I'll be doing it all online through DeVry University in a little under three years (hopefully) and I'll have my Bachelor's in Business Administration with a concentration in Sales and Marketing.

This week was so stressful!  I had to take four tests that not only determined my placement in classes but also my admission. I'm very hard on myself and felt like I didn't do good on them each time, but kept surprising myself with my scores. I placed in the highest math class and reading/English class. I'm proud of myself and I cant wait to start.

I start on October 29th, and since my birthday is the 25th - it's my present to myself. :)

Our Anniversary & Vacation Wrap Up

Wednesday (the 19th) was our three year wedding anniversary. We went to Panama City for the day. We started out the day by going through a huge life size maze. They gave us cards and we punched our start time, had to find four stations and punch the card and then find our way back out. We did it in forty minutes flat. It was a bunch of fun and I am a better navigator than my husband, ha! After that we went through Ripley's Believe it or Not. We had lunch at a beach side restaurant (duh) and then walked the beach and swam and lounged. My husband even saw a jelly fish. It was a beautiful day to celebrate our anniversary.

Thursday we didn't do a thing other than be lazy and we went out for dinner and Friday we started our trip home. We made it home safe and sound early Saturday morning (2 am!). As much as I love being on vacation, its nice to be home. :)

Florida Vacation - Day 5

On Tuesday, we went to the beach all day. Had lunch at The Back Porch, where I had one of the best chicken sanwiches I've ever had and the worst brain freeze ever from a yummy Pina Colada. Then we hit the outdoor mall and treated ourselves to some icecream from Coldstone. I, of coarse, had to go into Sephora before we left and as we were leaving we made a friend.

Theres nothing like spending the day on the beach and shopping to relax a girl.

Tomorrow I'll show you pictures from Wednesday (day  6) which was our three year wedding anniversary! We went to Panama City Beach. So much fun!

Florida Vacation - Days 3 & 4

My cousins rented a pontoon on Sunday and we went out on the water all day. Me and my husband have never been on a boat in the ocean before, it was so much fun and very relaxing. We got burnt even though we were sure to put on sunscreen often. I look like a raccoon.

On Monday, Ryan and I went shopping at the outlets. We bought all kinds of stuff at great prices but the best deal we got all day was at the coach outlet. I got a purse that was originally $198 for $78. I was excited!

After our whole day of shopping we treated ourselves to dinner. We went to Bubba Gumps which is based off the movie Forrest Gump. My husband loves that movie and quotes it often so it was an easy pick. It was so good and I got a souvenir glass.

We are having so much fun and since our 3 year wedding anniversary is tomorrow we are driving to Panama City to celebrate!

Florida Vacation - Day 1 & 2

Going to Florida was the first trip we've taken in my new-to-me SUV and let me tell you that car is a comfy one to ride in! I slept most of the 14 hour drive on Friday, but when I wasn't sleeping I had my feet propped up on the dash, my chair reclined back and I just watched the clouds go by and sang to the radio.

My husband loves having his picture taken. Not. But he wasn't paying attention for this one so I didn't get the usual hand in the way. We had more fun than we expected to on our long drive. As much time as we spend apart, 14 hours of undivided time together was the perfect chance to talk and laugh, in between my nap times that is.

I was so ready to google where teen mom's Maci lives and try to find it but my husband vetoed that pretty quick. Maybe on the way back?

On Saturday we drove around and my cousins showed us the sights, took us to eat and then we went shopping. At the end of the day we went bowling with my cousin, her husband and all of their military friends. It was so much fun even though I couldn't bowl (I have bad arthritis or something, I can't grip very well) and every one was really nice.

The last game of bowling was in the dark with black lights. I looked down and noticed my nails glowing bright. My cousin's daughter said "You look like you have witch nails!"

Tomorrow they are renting a boat and we will be out on the ocean all day and I cant wait! This is my husbands first time coming to Florida and it will be the first time for both of us to be on a boat out on the ocean. I love that we can still have firsts even though we have been together forever. Speaking of that, our 3 year wedding anniversary is the 19th!

I'll be sure to post all sorts of pretty ocean and beach pictures soon!

Insecurities

Top & Jeans: American Eagle
Boots: TJ Maxx
Necklace: Park Lane

I was nervous to write this post with these pictures. It isn't very often you'll see me post any full-bodied pictures of myself. I used to be a confident 115 pound girl. Now I'm curvy. And not so confident.

It has taken me a while to get used to my bank body. What is a bank body you  might ask? It is the result of going from an active retail job to a bank career where you sit behind a desk all day and your fellow employees bring in snacks every week that you cant resist.

If you ask my husband, he loves my curves more than he ever did my skinny frame. He is who encouraged my little photo shoot. All day on Saturday he kept saying how much he liked me in my new outfit. I told him he should take a picture and if I liked it I might blog about it. He said "If you see what I see, you will love it."

He makes me feel beautiful.

Sometimes all it takes is a nice compliment from someone to make a huge impact in the way you see yourself. We are our own worse critics. My goal this month is to try to not be so hard on myself and believe my husband when he tells me "No, those jeans don't make your butt look big."

High Five For Friday!

Linking up with Lauren at the From My Grey Desk blog.
Here are my high fives for the week:
  • My husband is the sweetest but he usually doesn't just buy me something out of no where. I was very surprised and pleased! I think he missed me, he had been away at work for days.
  • I love my parents and we got to spend some time together promoting my dads Bikers for Christ chapter at our local county fair. I snapped some really good pictures of them, too.
  • I have never beat my husband at Words With Friends. Ever. He is freakishly good at that game so its quite a feat for me. I am proud.
  • I inherited my grandmothers hutch after she passed away this year and my husband and I finally got it cleaned and in the house. I think of her every time I walk by it.
  • I watched a tutorial on how to do a sock bun and thought it was a neat style and did one myself. I surprised myself by actually being semi good at it. Such a cute look!
Hope you all had a high-five worthy week! I have had vacation brain all week, and still have monday through thursday to get through before we leave for Florida the 14th!! Hope you all have a fun and safe weekend!

Lyndsay
